The Brides at Triton Wedding Expo 2024 was an unforgettable event that allowed soon-to-be brides to realize their dream wedding. Featuring a diverse array of Cebu's top wedding exhibitors and professionals, from event organizers to fashion designers, the two-day wedding expo took place at the scenic Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark Cebu on July 6-7, 2024.
A significant highlight of the event was the captivating bridal fashion show named "Timeless Ties," which showcased the exquisite creations of talented designers such as Dexter Alazas, Jun Escario, Phillip Tampus, Philip Rodriguez, OJ Hofer, Wendell Quisido, Protacio Empaces, and Marichu Tan. The show opened with the impressive designs of BEZZA Wear by Claudia Bezza-Yeung, setting the stage for the much-anticipated program.
"Timeless Ties" was not just a fashion show but a tribute to Cebuano's ingenuity in the vibrant art world, providing a glimpse into the signature style of Cebu's celebrated fashion designers. The show also served as the idyllic avenue for designers to present their interpretation of bridal gowns, which have evolved from classic to modern styles.
Claudia Bezza-Yeung designs and crafts exquisite clothing and accessories for weddings and honeymoon wardrobes. Her collection comprises elegant dresses for pre-wedding events or stylish and comfortable outfits for honeymoon. Yeung's brand, Bezza Wear, offers a range of carefully curated, versatile, and chic pieces.
It's become increasingly common for brides to wear multiple looks on their wedding day. Philip Rodriguez's designs drew inspiration from the Carnival Queen in the 1920s, with bridal gowns that could be transformed into stunning after-party ensembles of beaded pants and crop tops.
Similarly, Protacio's bridal gown harmoniously blended the glitz, glamor, and musical vibes of the 1920s and 1960s, creating genuinely unforgettable pieces. Protacio's bride and groom set is fixed to enthrall modern brides seeking to nod to the past.
Marichu Tan, known for her refined works, created gowns that evoke figure-defying femininity, reflecting her style. "My aesthetics is very—feminine, but I like it. I also want the dresses to look sophisticated and sexy but still stand out among the crowd," Tan said.
Shimmer can be found in many designer pieces, like Wendell Quisido's gowns. The designer incorporated crystal embellishments in his creations, bringing elegant shine to play. Quisido also used tulle, adding a charming flounce to his bridal gowns.
Dexter Alazas utilized delicate Chantilly lace fabrics in his soft, sexy, and stunning wedding dresses. The luxurious fabric emphasized the delicate draping of Alazas's works. The fashion designer/stylographer spearheaded the fashion show as its creative director. Alazas collaborated with Cebu's best minds in fashion and music to ensure the program's success. Alazas' style squad worked closely with Jpark's formidable team to create innovations that made the bridal expo one of a kind. Lilu Ads also team up with the fashion forces behind the expo, keeping similar vision in mind.
"We made sure that our ideas are aligned with our aim to make this expo an affair to remember. Thanks to Anne Tidalgo, the proactive lead coordinator who invited me to join in as the creative collaborator to oversee details," Alazas said.
Alazas expressed his gratitude to Jpark, praising the resort for its unmatched hospitality. "Jpark is one destination venue for weddings, special occasions, and events. Having worked with their admin group, I can say they always offer that sense of generosity and cooperative spirit that's key to event organizers and clients alike, especially would-be couples, as they can lay down many options for any engagement to work with," he stated.
"Timeless Ties" was graced by the crème de la crème of Cebu. Margie Lhuillier won the Best Dressed award during the event for her classy attire, reflecting the event's overall appeal and drama.
This is not the first time The Brides at Triton has held a fashion show unveiling beautiful bridal gowns. Now in its third year, stunning creations by top-tier Filipino designers have owned the runway. Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark Cebu is the only 5-star water park in the Philippines.
